Why not choose stripes or dots, to give your wedding a chic feel about it.

Teresa is a well known fashion designer. Her friends that know her since she was a child, always comment she was fascinated with corals. One day she started experimenting with tin, corals and sea urchins and turned sculpture into her profession. All her work is inspired by nature, as Teresa herself comments ” nature is an ever ending source of inspiration, ideas, sensations, colours and textures for her pieces of art”. A happy and vitalist woman she thoroughly enjoys the process of creation often wondering where it will lead her to. The important thing as she says “is that the end result brings happiness and joy”.

What has this designer got to do with weddings? She produces wonderful sculptures in the shape of wedding bouquets, from metal leaves to sea urchins, corals, and even wood. Once the wedding is over you just need to take your wedding bouquet to her, and Teresa will turn it into an incredible sculpture that you can keep as a fond memory of your wedding in your home. Don´t you agree this is a wonderful idea?

Every single moment of your wedding day is special. Today I am going to talk about one of these moments, the instance you cut the traditional wedding cake. It is a magical instance, where everyones´eyes are on you, that´s why the wedding cake needs to be not only delicious but also  lovely and original to look at. We are very lucky nowadays,as wedding cake designers create marvelous cakes. There is a cake to suit each couple. You can share with your wedding cake designer your ideas, the colours and theme of your wedding and s/he will come up with an unique creation for you, on your wedding day.

In today´s post I would like to show you the work of two of these great designers : Vanilla Bake Shop and Layers Wedding Cakes.

Their wedding cakes are original and very creative, with all sorts of different motifs, shapes, colour combinations and decorative details such as lace, bows, natural flowers.  Your wedding cake will blend in perfectly with the rest of your wedding decorations.

I have chosen lilac today as the colour for a wedding. It is delicate, subtle and elegant just perfect to give your wedding a sweet, romantic touch. With the help of good wedding professionals, these inspiring ideas as well as others you may have, can be used as the starting point and adapted to help you turn your wedding into something unique, beautiful and special.

As always I recommend you pay attention to wedding accessories such as shoes, headdresses and wedding bouquet. They look great in shades of lilac, like this original headdress, and will certainly enhance your wedding dress.

Lilac: a delicate and subtle colour for your wedding day

Lilac: a delicate and subtle colour for your wedding day

Lilac is a lovely colour for your wedding reception and it blends in beautifully with other colours such as greens and pale yellows. In these two photographs they have chosen beautiful flower arrangements for the marquese and chinese paper lamps for the trees. They look great as does the simple and elegant flower arrangements on the tables or the delightful napkins with the menus inside.

You can also incorporate lilac to your wedding cake.  Look how cute those little birds look !! And for the final touch why not get your guests to write their good wishes for you as a couple, on cut out leaves in shades of lilac and peg them on to branches.

Not very long ago we featured Leo and Lorena‘s lovely wedding.  Their theme was all around peacock feathers and the ideas they came up with were gorgeous.  So today I thought I would look for photos of real weddings with feathers in them.  I have found some great ideas I would like to share with you all. Hope you find them as inspiring as I do !

A nice headdress with feathers always looks charming. Here are three I have found really stunning.

If you are thinking about celebrating your wedding outdoors, here are some ideas about how to enhance the natural beauty of the garden or yard.

Mother nature offers us lots of beautiful and interesting corners that we can make even more attractive with simply arranging some nice flowers in unusual containers, hanging lights and candles around or even placing wooden sign posts in an unusual and whimsical place in the garden, as you can see in this photo.

Some lovely ideas to decorate the garden on your wedding day

Trees are a source of inspiration. You can make them really stand out just by hanging lights, paper lanterns, pom pons or flowers in jars. Don´t forget to use things like tree trunks, old wooden benches or even bales of straw to arrange desserts, drinks, wedding favors etc.  In these photos you will find some lovely ideas !

An unusual hole in the wall, some rocks …. can be the ideal place for a nice, bright flower arrangement. I like the idea in this photo of arranging bales of straw for your guests to sit on, if you add cushions and patchwork quilts the wedding ceremony can look very colorful and pretty.

Remember that flower arches, ivory climbing up a tree or original flower pots here and there, will make the garden a really interesting place that your guests will never forget. Just let your imagination fly ! Nature and small decoration details will make all the rest !
