The natural surroundings (Zabalcuz Gardens) are impressive and the photographers have captured all the small details that make this day magic, Sandra and Nate smiling at each other, happy children running about, exotic parasols or the guests pleasure and excitement when opening the cds Sandra and Nate gave them as a favor of their wedding day.

What do precious stones tell us? Pearls

Brendas Bridal Veils

Brendas Bridal Veils

There is a legend that says Marco Antonio made a bet with Cleopatra on who would give the most expensive banquet in history. The evening of the banquet there was nothing on the plates. Cleopatra took an enormous pearl from her earrings and drank it with the wine. Marco Antonio proclaimed her the winner as pearls where very appreciated by the romans.

Pearl comes from the latin, it means `unique´. There are no two pearls alike as there are no two weddings the same. Pearls can´t be considered properly a precious stone as they come from a mollusk shell but they are so beautiful that they are the traditional remembrance gift for first, twelfth and thirtieth wedding anniversaries.

Pearls represent modesty, purity and a happy union, that is why they are considered the perfect wedding gift, but they shouldn´t be worn on rings as they mean misfortunes for lovers and for the brides they represent an `ocean of tears´, that is the reason why they are not often used in engagement rings.

There are twelve precious stones as there are twelve months in the year. Pearls represent the month of June, a very traditional month for weddings.

In this section of Beautiful Blue Brides we will tell you more about each of these precious stones. There is sure one that matches your favourite colour and style.

Carolina Herrera Brides Collection Spring 2011

We are fascinated with Carolina Herrera´s Brides  Collection Spring 2011.  The designs are really stricking and creative. They won´t leave people indifferent. Let´s have a look at them in detail!:

  1. The sheath shape dresses are great! In this first photo have a close look at the headdress: fresh flowers arrangement, an elegant alternative to traditional headdresses.
  2. Vestidos de novia. Carolina Herrera.

  3. This second dress is very original, finely embroidered in  the style of a black flower bouquet. The only objection might be the chiffon around the hips..
  4. Another finely embroidered dress in pale pinks.
  5. Vestidos de novia. Carolina Herrera.

  6. If you are looking for an elegant, simple design this sheath dress, with floor-length option and jewellery around the waist. It might look better without the straps, just the neckline.
  7. A very romantic dress, with a `v´ open back, and an ideal hairdo with vintage wavy hair.
  8. In our last photo  A-line shape with layers and layers of tulle, to make you feel like a real princess.

Another favourite is the delicacy of the flower bouquets chosen that perfectly match the dresses

Hanako and Roger’s Wedding

When a few weeks ago, I saw the wedding photos of Hanako and Roger, I could not resist to make everyone a participant here in Beautiful Blue Brides. Both Hanako and Roger have kindly accepted to share with us their big day, which we can enjoy through Kevin Scott Wood’s photographs, who has been able to capture every moment of this wedding tastefully with elegance and ease.

Hanako, was not only my college companion but also my flat-mate together with Bea for two years in Newent a small town in the Cotswold (UK). There was little to do in this small town, so our main entertainment was to chat and laugh until late at night. Many years have passed from the college days, but last August 26 we met once again, this time to celebrate the wedding of Hanako and Roger in Suffolk. One of the nicest weddings I have attended where not even a single detail was forgotten.

Where to go for our honeymoon?

Our honeymoon is the perfect excuse to go on that trip we have always dreamt off. It is romantic, unforgettable, it is something we will always remember.

¿has decidido dónde ir de viaje de novios?

Where to go for our honeymoon?

Here in Beautiful Blue Brides we want to provide you with plenty of ideas so you can organize the perfect trip. You will be able to see other places and cultures, places you would have never thought existed….Where do we begin?

After all the haste and stress of the wedding, planning the honeymoon is a delightful way of switching off, something to enjoy.

To decide on where to go we can ask ourselves some questions that might help us:

  1. Do we want to just relax or do we prefer some outdoor activities and a bit of adventure?
  2. Enjoy the crowds and exoticism of a bazaar in Estambul or forget about everyone and just enjoy each others company on a heavenly island.
  3. What do we enjoy doing as a couple? Trecking, surf, diving, mountain climbing, photography…
  4. What do we like best? Nature, learning about other cultures and history, eating out or just go shopping !
  5. Do we prefer to look after ourselves with nice healthy food, saunas and and massages ?

What we should bear in mind? :

  1. The best time of the year to do the trip depending on the climate of the place we want to visit, crowds etc.
  2. Should we just stick to one place or combine different places. Depending on the number of days we have and the place we are going to visit we can combine it with a short stop in another place on the way there.
  3. How many days de we have? This is very important we cant decide to see all of China in two weeks as we will be busy traveling all day and won´t enjoy our honeymoon. We have to be realistic!
  4. Last but not least is the budget we have. This is very important, we might not be able to go to the place we always dreamt off but we can look for other closer or less well known places that are equally incredible that we can afford.
